Meet the team

Sara Ottley Director and Founder

Hi, I’m Sara

I’m originally from Cheshire and previously lived in Greece for 10 years running a very successful Bar called Flares in Malia, I returned in 2002 and  joined the Fire Service as a firefighter for the following 4 years. My passion has always been sport and fitness. I run 1/2 Marathons, I climb mountains and I join in any physical activity I possibly can….

At the age of 31 I decided to have a total change in career and follow my passion – I re-qualified with Premier Training as an Advanced Personal Trainer and Deep Tissue/Sports massage therapist. In January 2006 I set up – BURN IT FITNESS (can you see a little fire Brigade connection there!).

Over the last 6 years I have strived to be an approachable, dynamic and enthusiastic PT growing my knowledge at every opportunity and loving my job!

On a more personal note I have a lovely husband (who refuses to do any real exercise!) and 2 beautiful daughters Amelie and Ophelia who are the light of my life!

If you are looking for a trainer who is, passionate, professional, keen to challenge you and has a proven track record in getting great results…well here I am!

Hello, I’m Louise

I’m originally from Liverpool. I moved to Greece in 2000 were I worked for 4 summer seasons in Sara’s fun, fabulous 70′s bar “Flares”. This is where Sara and I became close friends and training buddies. We were the only girls in Malia that would hit the gym mid afternoon whilst others would enjoy a siesta.

From a young age sport and fitness has been a major part of my life, from being captain of the hockey team to now completing the London, Brighton (twice) and Liverpool marathons. I decided to turn my passion into my career and aIso re-trained in 2007 at Premier.

I am super sociable, friendly and full of motivation. I pride myself in delivering second to non Personal Training sessions. You will be energised, challenged and feel muscles you didn’t know you had!

Michelle Walsh

Hello I’ m Michelle and I joined the team in March 2010. I am originally from Co. Kerry in the west of Ireland My passion for the fitness industry really took off when I moved to Sydney in late 2000. Being in the sun and around all those healthy people really gave me the buzz for health and fitness so much so I ended up living there for 5 1/2 years and completed my studies in Nutrition and Natural therapies.

I returned to the UK in 2006 where I worked as an advisor and supervisor in a well known London health store and eventually taking on my own clients working as a freelance Nutritionist.

I qualified with Premier with a Personal Training Diploma in 2009.

I went on to work for Virgin Active at one of their central London gyms but always longed to be outdoors again!

As well as having my PT clients now I currently run nutrition workshops for corporate clients helping them to improve their diet and the effects it has on their life.

I am a firm believer that for long term results nutrition and training go hand in hand.  Here I am to help you guys achieve your fitness and health goals through training and proper nutrition.

Emma Harwood

Motherhood made me re-evaluate my career and therefore enter the world of fitness training.
From my experience as a keen gym-goer, runner, swimmer, snowboarder and through yoga practice I’m now passionate about providing my clients with a varied, challenging and progressive exercise program.

I understand everyone is different in terms of their body, goals and motivation and want to help you reach the realisation you can achieve anything.

My sessions incorporate anything from kettlebells to TRX and boxing to HIIT training and will improve your cardio, strength and core ability. All this in the great outdoors (weather permitting!) so no more cardio or resistance machines.

We will work together to get you the results you want, and I will closely monitor your progress to make sure you’re on track to a  fitter, healthier you.

I will get you using your whole body through functional exercises that will benefit you in your daily life and to keep you and your body guessing, each session will be a new challenge.

Gary Pettengell

Having worked in the fitness industry for 7 years i have been fortunate enough to work with many gyms and organizations helping their members achieve their Personal Fitness goals. Since those early days I have worked in New York, Sydney, Cairo and all over London training clients from many diverse backgrounds and with even more diverse fitness goals.

It was my passion for taking fitness outside of regular gyms and into parks and open spaces that led me to find Burn It Fitness – a company that shares my love of outdoor training and recognizes the many benefits of training outdoors as opposed to run of the mill gym sessions.

Having trained everyone from recreational trainers to professional athletes i have been lucky enough to work with many different clients but ultimately they all wanted to achieve the same thing – to excel in their personal fitness journeys… now it’s your turn.
